The Climate Change and Water program (CCW) of Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean (CATHALAC, in Spanish) welcome you to the regional workshop, "Climate Adaptation in the Water Sector: How can Research Best Meet the Needs of Decision Makers?", to be held in Panama City, Republic of Panama, from December 2-4, 2013.

This workshop brings together researchers involved in the six projects selected as part of IDRC’s call for research proposals on Water and Adaptation to Climate Change in Latin America and the Caribbean, funded through the Government of Canada’s Fast Start Funding. Project teams will have the opportunity to share their lessons learned and discuss approaches to common challenges faced in the region, while also exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

An important aspect of the workshop will involve discussion on how to interact more effectively with decision makers and generate research that can support stronger policy impacts. To support this objective, a number of research end-users from different sectors will also join the discussions and share their unique perspectives.

We invite you to visit the websites of IDRC's CCW program and CATHALAC to learn more about our scope of work.

We look forward to a fruitful and productive workshop.
